Maersk Edinburgh class / Pearl class

The series in the 2007/08 year ordered is delivered from July 2010 by the South Korean shipyard Hyundai heavy industries. The series is the Hamburg-based Rickmers group. The shipping company is Maersk line from Copenhagen as charterer. Also the ships delivered from late 2009 at the shipping company CMA CGM the CMA-CGM Christophe-Colomb class or the MSC Daniela class are based on the same basic concept, but both are wider.

Five ships of the 13.830 TEU - series of CMA CGM will be starting beginning of June with the CMA CGM Christophe Colomb starting, as well as five other almost identical 13.092-TEU ships employed by Maersk a so-called slow-steaming (English: driving slow) start container service from Europe to the far East. The beginning of the service with the symbol FAL 5 or AE8 was planned for the summer of 2009, but was not realized due to the financial crisis from 2007. He will take over the ports of Le Havre, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Zeebrugge, port Kelang, Singapore, Ningbo, Shanghai, Shenzhen Yantian, Tanjung Pelepas, port Kelang and back to Le Havre. The Maersk Edinburgh class is a class in the FAL5/AE8 far East Europe service were introduced from 2010.
