Boxship Iris Bolten blackout after explosion in Kiel Canal

On Oct 22 at around 1720 LT boxship Iris Bolten suffered an explosion in engine room which caused a blackout, while proceeding in a Kiel Canal. Vessel had to be anchored in emergency near Breiholz, with resulting traffic slowing. Two tugs were dispatched to tow Iris Bolten to Brunsbuettel. Maritime Bulletin
