French research vessel Marion Dufrense aground and breached, Indian ocean

French research and supply vessel Marion Dufrense ran aground in the morning Nov 14 in position 46 26S 051 53E in a bay Cro-Baie du Marin, Possession island, Crozet Archipelago, Indian ocean. Vessel reportedly suffered a breach in a bow part, portside, two compartments and 5 ballast tanks are flooded. There were 145 people on board, among them 48 crew and 97 passengers, including 55 scientists. It is understood that there is no immediate danger to vessel and people on board. Photo
