Fire in cargo hold of f/v Blue Pacific, Alaska
Fire broke out in hold of fishing vessel Blue Pacific in the morning June 12 13 while it was tied up at the Coastal Transportation dock in Unalaska, Alaska, reported Unalaska Community Broadcasting. Fire started at around 08:30 LT and was extinguished some two hours later, by both firefighters and crew. The source of the blaze was a air heater in the vessel’s hold, installed near pallets of a flammable packing material fiber. Vessel suffered some damage. No injures and no spill reported.
