OPDR adds Andalusia link with new Huelva call
As of today, the German short sea shipping and logistics company Oldenburg-Portugiesische Dampfschiffs-Rhederei (OPDR) will add the port of Huelva to its network. The Spanish Andalusian port will be served as part of the shipping line’s ‘SEBI’, a loop which connects the European northern range with the Iberian peninsula and the Canaries.
The service has the following rotation: Felixstowe, Rotterdam, Leixoes, Lisbon, Sevilla, Las Palmas, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Cadiz, Huelva (new), Bilbao.
OPDR now deploys four vessels on the service, the OPDR LISBOA, OPDR LA PALMAS, OPDR CADIZ – which made an inaugural trial call on Sep 24 – and the OPDR TANGER, which today officially opened the new destination.
OPDR is therefore now the only shipping line to call at Huelva with a full container service.
The addition of Huelva to the ‘SEBI’ follows the recent addition of Bilbao to the service. At this occasion, the North European feeder operator Teamlines began taking slots on the Northern Range to Bilbao leg of the service and dropped Bilbao from one of its own weekly feeders.
