Dutch reefer Holland Klipper caught in illegal fishing scandal

Environmental Justice Foundation EJF, London-based NGO, is warning Korea of the arrival of Dutch reefer Holland Klipper, which docked in Busan on Oct 30, accusing vessel of transporting illegal shipment of fish. Fish allegedly, was taken from South Korean trawler Kum Woong 101 (IMO 7236995, 702 gt, flag Korea or Russia) in the waters of Inshore Exclusion Zone of Sierra Leone, Western Africa. This demand comes at a key time since Korea has been under international pressure due to its allegedly illegal activities in the fishing industry. It has been hinted that the country could face EU sanctions if the issue isn’t tackled and improved. EJF is calling on Korea to block the shipment, 4385 boxes of fish.
