Hamburg Süd christened CAP SAN RAPHAEL in Hamburg

On Sunday the 29th of June, the shipping company Hamburg Süd christened its new container vessel CAP SAN RAPHAEL. Christening was celebrated in the presence of 700 guests at the Burchardkai Terminal in the Port of Hamburg.

The 9,600 TEU container ship is one of the six new container ships of the "Cap San" class built for Hamburg Süd by Hyundai Heavy Industries at the shipyard in Ulsan. The CAP SAN RAPHAEL is currently operated between Europe and the East Coast of South America.

The new built vessels of the "Cap San" class are the biggest in the fleet of the Hamburg Süd. With the reefer capacity of 2,100 TEU the vessels are considered to be the world’s largest ships for reefer capacity.
