Crimean Black List – Ukraine is closing down Crimean ports

According to Ukrainian media, government of the Ukraine may declare official closing of the Crimean ports on Wednesday July 9. Assumingly Ukrainian authorities will launch a Sea Blockade campaign, monitoring Crimean ship calls, and hunting down violators. Vessels of the violators may be arrested in Ukrainian mainland ports, subject to either heavy fine (and losses caused by detention), or even confiscation and prison terms for crew. In theory, all States, members of the IMO, should join the sanctions, and assist Ukraine in persecuting the violators, in their waters. Crimean ports may therefore, be totally closed down for all export-import cargoes, the only cargoes they’d handle will be goods from Russian mainland, goods required for Crimean population and economy, just for their survival. Ukrainian activists, headed by Maidan and regional news agency Black Sea News blackseanews.net, issued first Black List edition, listing all the violators they’ve been able to find so far. List includes 13 vessels, 6 of them are Turkish, 4 Greek, 1 Italian, 1 Romanian, 1 Bulgarian.
