Aframax crude oil tanker Australian Spirit on tow to Halifax
Aframax crude oil tanker Australian Spirit lost steering off Nova Scotia on Dec 9, en route to New York with 90000 tons of crude oil on board. It is understood, that Teekay contracted Canadian companies for salvage, tug Atlantic Larch and offshore tug and supply vessel Venture Sea, were dispatched to assist, reportedly tanker was taken on tow on Dec 10, to be towed to Halifax. At 0500 UTC Dec 12 the convoy was 35 nm south of Halifax, proceeding at a speed of some 3 knots.
