General cargo vessel NBP Voyager cargo shift and loss of deck cargo
General cargo vessel NBP Voyager had to call Cee port, Corcubion, Coruna, Spain, after suffering cargo shift in Bay of Biscay on Feb 23-24. Vessel was en route from Riga Latvia to Algiers with some 7000 tons of packed sawn timber, and encountered a severe storm. Deck cargo shifted, vessel developed a portside list, and after cargo holding poles gave in part of deck cargo went overboard, reportedly hundreds of tons. Vessel had to change the course and head for nearest port to re-stow the cargo. On a photo taken on Feb 25 NBP Voyager in Cee, re-stowing the cargo.
