Faulty fire system damaged cabins and passengers luggage, Viking Line

Fire extinguishing water spray system switched on automatically on board of ferry Mariella late at night Oct 10, due to unknown reason, as no fire was reported. Sprinkled water covered the floors in cabins on fourth and fifth decks of the ferry, which was en route from Stockholm to Helsinki. Some of the cabins were damaged by water to such an extent, that passengers had to move to public areas like conference hall, and sleep there. Passengers luggage was damaged. Vessel arrived to Helsinki early in the morning Oct 11.
