Car carrier SILVER SKY attacked, one crew shot, Gulf of Guinea
Car carrier SILVER SKY was attacked by pirates on Jan 19 at around midday LT in Gulf of Guinea in position 03 58N 005 00E, some 50 nm southwest of Bayelsa coast, Nigeria. Vessel was fired upon, one crew was wounded, reportedly survived. Pirates tried to board SILVER SKY but failed, they gave up chasing and moved away. Vessel reportedly called Cotonou Benin, and then departed bound for Antwerp.
