Tanker ICE EAGLE struck freighter IVAN RYABOV while in ice escort, Kara sea

Chemical tanker ICE EAGLE struck by her bow stern starboard aft of general cargo vessel IVAN RYABOV in Kara Sea, on reportedly, Feb 26. Both vessels were proceeding in ice, under icebreaker Yamal escort. IVAN RYABOV was stuck in ice due to ice jam, and warned ICE EAGLE, sailing in her wake. Tanker didn’t deaden inertia and allided with freighter. IVAN RYABOV suffered buckled poop deck, dented railings and hull dent 495х35х90 centimeter. There was no breach, vessel remained seaworthy and resumed sailing. Both vessels as of 1500 UTC Feb 28 were sailing in ice-free waters, IVAN RYABOV en route to Arkhangelsk, ICE EAGLE en route to Murmansk.
