STENA SPIRIT fire

Fire broke out in on of the trucks on STENA SPIRIT ferry’s car deck, in the morning Aug 30, when vessel was approaching Gdynia Poland, en route from Karslkrona, Sweden. Fire was extinguished by the crew, there was no actual danger to passengers or vessel, but because of thick smoke, which spread around vessel’s decks, passengers were ordered to leave cabins and gather on upper decks. Vessel docked in Gdynia and was banned from scheduled sailings until completing survey and investigation.
