General cargo vessel M STAR 1 capsized, unconfirmed sank, in the evening Sep 7 in vicinity 11 28N 097 11E, Andaman sea, some 25 nm southwest of Great Western Torres Islands, Myanmar. Vessel was en route from Port Klang, Malaysia to Chittagong, Bangladesh. Offshore supply tug LEWEK HARRIER was deployed in SAR, spotted and rescued all 14 crew, understood 12 crew were picked up from a life raft, 2 from life boat. Contact with vessel was lost on Sep 3, last known position 09 54N 096 50E. Details yet unclear. LEWEK HARRIER with rescued crew on board is to disembark them at Ranong, Thailand, ETA evening Sep 9.
