Ferry WENATCHEE Captain collapsed and fell on control panel causing collision

Captain of ferry WENATCHEE, serving Point Defiance-Tahlequah line (ferry route across Puget Sound between the Point Defiance ferry terminal in Tacoma and Tahlequah, Washington), at night Dec 24 collapsed and hit a control panel as he fell, which caused the ferry to lurch forward and collided with the pier. Bridge watch restored control and tried to help Captain, who suffered heart attack, with defibrillator. He was taken to hospital, condition unknown. Service was suspended until completing pier repairs.
