Rail and car ferry BALTIYSK cargo shift, list, Baltic Sea
Ferry BALTIYSK at 1715 Moscow time Dec 27 developed starboard list after cargo shift on upper and main decks, including two derailed oil cars, loaded with fuel, on upper deck. Vessel was anchored at Baltiysk Anchorage, Kaliningrad Region, Baltic Sea, awaiting pilotage to port, in rough weather conditions. BALTIYSK was swung around and put beam on to the swell, causing cargo shift. At 1930 Moscow time Dec 27 vessel left anchorage and sailed out to sea to weather the storm. Vessel was taken to Baltiysk and docked, in the afternoon Dec 29.
