Norwegian car carrier troubled off Spain, Atlantic

Car carrier VERONA suffered engine failure in the afternoon Dec 29 shortly after leaving Vigo, Spain bound for Tanger. The ship stopped and was anchored off Guarda, south of Vigo. Two Spanish Maritime Rescue boats were sent to check ship’s condition and if necessary, tow her to port. Crew managed to fix the problem, VERONA resumed sailing at around midnight local time.
