Chinese coaster grounded, abandoned, Taiwan Strait

General cargo ship YI CHENG 1 grounded onto small island northwest of Nanri island, north of Quanzhou, Fujian Province, China, Taiwan Strait, at around 0500 Beijing time Dec 28, in adverse weather. Prior to grounding, the ship was anchored, so probably anchor dragged and she drifted aground. 13 crew managed to get to the island, and were later evacuated by helicopter. The ship, loaded with containers, remained aground on rocky coast, condition unknown. The ship was en route from Jangyin to Ningde, China.
