Egyptian bulk carrier aground in Canakkale waters, Aegean sea UPDATE refloated

Bulk carrier KEMET STAR ran aground off western coast of Bozcaada island, Canakkale Province, Turkey, Aegean sea, in the evening Mar 18, while en route from Egypt to Derince Port, eastern Marmara sea, Turkey. Canakkale Traffic Control responded, sending tug and lifeboat to assist. No information yet on damages. As of 2300 UTC Mar 19, the ship was probably, still aground, with tug KURTARMA 3 nearby. The ship understood to be in load.

Mar 21 UPDATE: Was refloated with the help of two tugs at around 1200 UTC Mar 20, anchored northeast of grounding site for survey. As of 0600 UTC Mar 21, was still at anchor.
