Dutch freighter suffered engine failure, returns to port of departure, Italy

General cargo ship MARSGRACHT suffered engine failure shortly after leaving Savona port, Italy, Ligurian sea, at around 1340 UTC Apr 20. Crew failed to fix the problem by own means after some 2 hours attempts, Master decided to return to Savona. Understood the ship managed to return under own power at slow speed, as of 1800 UTC she was under way approaching port, at some 3 knots speed. She’s en route to Algeciras.
