Tanker probably hijacked, released, details unknown UPDATE

Product tanker B OCEAN on Jan 25 was reported as hijacked, contacts with the ship were lost since around 2330 UTC Jan 24, 50 nm south of Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Gulf of Guinea. Ship’s AIS was also off. Signal reappeared at 1946 UTC Jan 25, latest AIS dated around 0000 UTC Jan 26, tanker sailing towards Abidjan at some 9 knots speed, with no Navy/security ships or boats visible around. Still not known what exactly happened, whether tanker was hijacked, and if hijacked, what was it pirates were after – kidnapping of the crew or stealing the cargo. Tanker is understood to be deployed as a bunker tanker in Ivory Coast waters.

UPDATE: According to Dryad, attack and hijack confirmed, pirates stole cargo and fled, crew are safe.
