UPDATE: The ship, allegedly, suffered fire during the night May 11-12, when she was under way, heading for famous Snake island. According to Ukrainian military intelligence leak, VSEVOLOD BOBROV suffered major fire, some or all of crew were evacuated, but the ship didn’t sink, she was taken back to Sevastopol – Russian Black sea Navy base.

Ukrainian media reported major fire and serious damages suffered by brand new Russian Navy auxiliary supply and icebreaking ship VSEVOLOD BOBROV, in Black sea. No date of hit or accident, no details available. The ship is docked in Sevastopol, and reportedly, is in need of extensive repairs. News aren’t confirmed, Russia doesn’t confirm or rebuke the news. As with frigate ADMIRAL MAKAROV, the story remains a mystery, so far. But most probably, something – major accident – did really happen, but it will take quite a time to find out the truth. Altogether, Russian Navy losses in this conflict are appalling, taking into account total lack of adversary – Ukraine doesn’t have Navy worth mentioning, virtually none at all, except some boats.
