Luxury sailing yacht hit by SAR tug, sank in Spain VIDEO
Sailing yacht ELEONORA E was hit by SAR ship PUNTA MAYOR (IMO 8305066) at Tarragona Port, Spain, on Jun 10. Yacht starboard side was literally, crushed, ELEONORA E sank along pier. PUNTA MAYOR was maneuvering to exit port, her engines controls suddenly were blocked in reverse mode, the ship couldn’t stop or slow down her aft moving, and struck hapless yacht by her stern, at rather high speed. Nobody was injured. Yacht hull is made of steel, probably she will be restored.
