Bulk carrier PORTLAND BAY caught in storm, lost power, drifted and managed to stop drifting after dropping anchor 0.5 nm off Garie Beach in the Royal National Park, south of Sydney, in the morning Jul 4. Bulk carrier left Port Kembla around noon Jul 3, port of destination unclear. Assisting distressed bulk carrier probably impossible until weather improves.
