Coaster crushed fishing vessel, 15 crew rescued

General cargo ship KM LINTAS DAMAI 5 struck fishing vessel KMN HARAPAN BARU in the afternoon Jul 5 in waters of Tanakeke island, south of Makassar Port, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Fishing vessel sank, 15 people on board were rescued. Understood it wasn’t not fault KM LINTAS DAMAI 5 – disabled fishing vessel was under tow of another fishing vessel, caravan strayed into shipping lane and tried to pass ahead of oncoming freighter.
